Tenant FAQ’s
What are my obligations as a tenant?
You will be expected to pay your rent (and service charge if required) in full and on time.
You will be expected to take good care of your home.
You must keep the property clean and tidy.
You must report any property maintenance issues to your landlord.
You must carry out light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and batteries in smoke alarms and unblocking sinks and toilets.
You must take the rubbish out to the communal rubbish bins, on the Council collection days.
You are not permitted to allow anyone else who is not on our specified on your tenancy agreement to stay in the property.
You are expected to respect your neighbours and you are to ensure none of your household or visitors causes disturbance or annoyance to the neighbours living near you.
You must permit property inspections when required.

Q: How can I pay my rent?
A: You can set up a standing order, or pay at the bank.
Q: How do I make a complaint?
A: You can email your complaint to estates@kinsmanhousing.co.uk.
Q: How do I report anti-social behaviour?
A: Please report the matter to us via email or telephone.
Q: How can I get a rent statement?
A: You can get your rent statement by sending a request to us via email to estates@kinsmanhousing.co.uk.
Q: What if I smell gas in the property?
A: Open the windows immediately and phone this emergency number: 0800 111 999
Q: What do I do if there is something wrong with the property?
A: You have a responsibility to report any problem within the property and should email us to explain the problem.
Q: Do I have to pay for my gas, electricity and telephone?
A: Yes, these are your own responsibility. We will give you the necessary information and also take gas, electricity and water meter readings before you move in and when you leave.
